Mrs Kiran Bali MBE JP

A social entrepreneur and community leader, Kiran has been instrumental in pioneering interfaith initiatives. Kiran works around the world to train communities in interfaith co-operation and peace building techniques.

CEO of Unitied Religions Initiative UK and one of the youngest UK Magistrates.

Professor David Coleman

Professor of Demography at Oxford University since 2002. Formerly Reader and Lecturer in Demography. Educated at Oxford University. Between 1985 - 1987 worked as Special Adviser to the Home Secretary and later to the Ministers of Housing and the Environment. Research interests include Comparative Demographic Trends in the Industrial World; Immigration Trends and Policies, and the Demography of Ethnic Minorities. He has worked as a consultant for the Home Office, the United Nations and private business. He has published over 90 papers and 8 books. He is a consultant to Migrationwatch on demographic matters but does not speak on its behalf.

Baroness (Caroline) Cox

Life Peer since 1982. Deputy Speaker of the House of Lords 1986-2005. Trained as a nurse. Later obtained a BSc in Sociology and an MSc in Economics from London University. Well known as a campaigner for Human Rights, particularly in respect of the persecuted church. Chancellor, Liverpool Hope University; Vice President of the Royal College of Nursing and CEO of HART (Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust).

Mr John Entwistle OBE

Part-time Immigration Judge 2000-2010. President of the British Chambers of Commerce 1998-2000. Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeals Panel Member since 2000. Trustee of the Royal Academy since 2006. Member of Chancellor of Exchequer's Standing Committee on preparation for EMU 1998-2000. Council Member of Britain in Europe 1999 - 2004. Deputy Lieutenant for Merseyside 1992 - 2002. Partner in Maxwell, Entwistle and Byrne Solicitors 1966-1992. Qualified as a Solicitor 1963.

Sir Andrew Green KCMG (Chairman)

Educated at Cambridge. Short Service Commission, Royal Green Jackets 1962-1965. HM Diplomatic Service 1965. Served in Lebanon, Aden, Abu Dhabi, Paris and Washington. Ambassador to Syria 1991 - 1994, Middle East Director 1994-1996, and Ambassador to Saudi Arabia 1996 - 2000.

Mr George Kronfli

Born and brought up in the Sudan of Syrian origin. Resident in the UK since 1970. A businessman active in the oil and gas export industry.

Mr Alp Mehmet MVO

Arrived from Cyprus 1956 aged 8. Educated at Parmiter's Grammar School in London's East end and Bristol Polytechnic. Immigration Officer (1970-79); Entry Clearance Officer Lagos (1979-83); Diplomatic Service (1983-2008), serving in Romania, Germany and Iceland (twice). Ambassador to Iceland (2004-2008).

Mr Harry Mitchell QC

Educated at Cambridge. Called to The Bar, Gray's Inn 1968. Colonial Service, Sierra Leone 1954 - 1959. Later Company Secretary, The Wellcome Foundation Limited 1976 - 1992. Chairman, Bar Association for Commerce, Finance and Industry 1984 - 1985. Member of the Bar Council 1978 - 1981 and 1983 - 1986. Part-time immigration Adjudicator 1992 - 2002.

Dr Ahmed Ibrahim Mukhtar DL FRCP

Retired consultant paediatrician and former Medical Director of an NHS trust in Northamptonshire. Member of the governing council of the University of Northampton. Associate of the General Medical Council. Member of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Tribunal. Born in the Sudan and educated Khartoum and Edinburgh Universities. Resident in the UK since 1972.

Ms Patricia Skitmore LL.B (Hons) London

After a career in the business world, called to the Bar at Lincolns Inn 1976. Barrister in company law and tax. Later also a lecturer in Law at Guildhall University and contributor to professional journals. Appointed a part time Immigration Judge in 1993, served full time from 1995 until retiring in 2005.

Mr Hazhir Teimourian

A writer on Middle Eastern history and politics. He was born in 1940 in the Kurdish region of western Iran and came to the UK in 1959 for his higher education. He stayed on and has spent the last 35 years in journalism, mainly with the BBC World Service and The Times newspaper. He believes strongly that if societies are to remain functional, they must stay culturally and emotionally cohesive. Large-scale immigration is likely to disrupt that and lead to political upheaval. Professor Roger Williams CBE, MD, FRCP, FRCS, FRCPE, FRACP, FmedSci, FRCPI(Hon), FACP(Hon)

Professor of Hepatology and Director, Institute of Hepatology, University College London and Honorary Consultant Physician to the UCL Hospitals Trust. His work in liver disease has brought him a national and international reputation and he has published nearly 2,000 articles in research studies. His chief concern is the increasing frequency of Hepatitis B, HIV and other infections due to failure to test immigrants from countries with high infection rates.
